GovSkills Welcomes Andy Eichfeld as Senior Advisor
Former McKinsey Senior Partner and Discover Executive Andy Eichfeld Joins GovSkills as Senior Advisor
WASHINGTON, D.C., June 22, 2025 – GovSkills, an innovative AI-native platform dedicated to modernizing government recruiting, today announced that Andy Eichfeld has joined the company as a Senior Advisor. Eichfeld will provide strategic guidance to the GovSkills team as it continues to build out its platform connecting top talent with public service careers.
GovSkills is transforming the public sector hiring landscape, which includes over 20 million jobs and more than 90,000 hiring entities across federal, state, and local governments. The platform addresses significant challenges in the government hiring process, where nearly half of all applicants abandon their applications and about 50% of agencies struggle to find qualified candidates.
Andy advised and worked side-by-side with CEOs and senior executives for over 30years at McKinsey, Discover Financial Services, and through his volunteer and philanthropic activities. As the former Chief Human Resources & Chief Administration Officer at Discover, Andy set and aligned the talent strategy across the 21,000 person organization. His volunteer and philanthropic portfolio on social and economic inclusion includes workforce development initiatives like Skills for Chicago’s Future and CareerHighways which are both scaling nationally.
